Puppy Kindergarten

We would love to have you and your pup join us for our six week Puppy Kindergarten course at Luv-A-K9! This page reviews the requirements for the course, our upcoming courses and allows you to submit an application to join the course of your choice.

About The Course

Puppy Kindergarten is a specialized class for young puppies with a focus on socialization and basic commands. Teach your puppy to walk properly on a leash, come, sit, down and stand on command as well as enjoy structured off-leash playtimes with other puppies in the class.

This course will also review prevention of common puppy problems such as jumping up, hand biting, barking, chewing and house soiling.

A detailed homework book will be provided to you at your first class to help guide your at home practices week by week. Two family members may attend each class - children of all ages are encouraged to join and participate in training.

Puppy Kindergarten is the first course in a three-part series. Once puppies have completed Puppy Kindergarten they are eligible to continue on to Puppy Graduate, and finally, Intermediate Obedience.

Course Requirements

Age

On the date of the first class in your six week course, your puppy must be between 10 - 20 weeks of age. 

In order to be eligible for your selected course, your puppy's date of birth (DOB) should fall in-between (or on) the provided date ranges in the table shown below.

Vaccinations

Your puppy must have their second set of vaccinations in order to attend class, including:
  • DHPP, DAPP, DA2PP, or DAPPC
  • Leptospirosis
  • Bordetella (recommended, not required)
Proof of vaccinations is not required at the time of registration, but must be presented prior to the first day of class.

Booking

We require that our students put down a full, non-refundable payment for the course to secure a space. The total cost for the six week course including tax is $150.00.

Invoices are issued via email and allow for payment using VISA, MasterCard, American Express or e-transfer. Alternatively, payment may be made with any of the above noted credit cards over the phone.
