Beginner Obedience

We would love to have you and your dog join us for our six week Beginner Obedience course at Luv-A-K9! This page reviews the requirements for the course, our upcoming courses and allows you to submit an application to join the course of your choice.

About The Course

Teach basic obedience and verbal commands so that your dog becomes a safe, happy and responsive pet. Learn how to deal with behavioural problems like jumping up, hand biting, barking, chewing, and digging.

Teach your dog not to pull on leash, heel by your side, come when called, stand, sit and down stays. Build your skills so you have a well mannered house pet that will be a pleasure to own.

A detailed homework book will be provided to you at your first class to help guide your at home practices week by week. Two family members may attend each class - children of all ages are encouraged to join and participate in training.

Beginner Obedience is the first course in a two-part series. Once dogs have completed Beginner Obedience they are eligible to continue on to Intermediate Obedience.

Course Requirements

Vaccinations

Your dog must have up-to -date vaccinations in order to attend class, including:
  • DHPP, DAPP, DA2PP, or DAPPC
  • Leptospirosis
  • Rabies
  • Bordetella (recommended, not required)
Proof of vaccinations is not required at the time of registration, but must be presented prior to the first day of class.

Booking

We require that our students put down a full, non-refundable payment for the course to secure a space. The total cost for the six week course including tax is $150.00.

Invoices are issued via email and allow for payment using VISA, MasterCard, American Express or e-transfer. Alternatively, payment may be made with any of the above noted credit cards over the phone.

Please note that course options cannot be combined and you must commit to one day and time for the duration of your dog's classes.
