Welcome to Luv-A-K9's Exclusive Services!

We are thrilled to have you and your dog on board and look forward to spending time with them. In order to provide you and your dog with reliable service and the best experience we would like to take a moment to review a few key things with you.

Who Spends Time With Your Pet?

All of our services are provided to you by our hand picked team of dog enthusiasts who are required to take several courses through Luv-A-K9 with their own dog(s) as well as others under trainer supervision to achieve the most hands on experience possible. Beyond this, members of our team are required to have up-to-date CPIC background checks.
While our Exclusive Services team is capable and knowledgeable, their role is to provide the services outlined in our Exclusive Services portfolio. Outside of training walks offered through the Exclusive Services team we ask that any requests or questions regarding training issues or goals are guided to Luv-A-K9 through info@luvak9.com or by phone at 613-214-4165.

Booking Services

There are a few different ways to book services with our team! Download our app (available for iOS and Android), once downloaded - fill out the form to request access. Once we approve your access you can complete your account registration with us and then book through the app. You will receive notifications as soon as your services are approved, will be notified of which staff member is assigned to the service and receive updates straight to your phone while we're out with your dog!
If you'd prefer to book through email or over the phone you may do so by connecting with us using  info@luvak9.com or 613-214-4165. We require that you fill out the below form so we have all necessary details for you and your pet(s) on file. Please complete our "Dog Details" form for each dog you're placing in our care.

Our Timing

We do our very best to accommodate your preferences and get to your home at the exact time you request, but have many factors to take into account (traffic, weather, previous client dog, conversations with customers etc.) that come into play with our timing. 

While your preferred time request cannot be guaranteed we do guarantee that our visit with your dog will always take place within your visit time slot. Our Group Walk service time slots vary slightly from those outlined in the app. We offer two time slots for Group Walks: 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM and 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM. 

Our team tends to many dogs each day! While we’d love to stay and chat, we almost always have several dogs waiting patiently for us to receive their walk. We graciously ask that you consider this when interacting with our staff. Excessive chat time during pick up and drop off will be taken into account and considered part of our visit with your dog.

Our Policies

Safety 
  • Disinfecting of shoes and hands between client visits
  • Use of the Luv-A-K9 Exclusive Services App to check in and out of provided services 
  • Enter your home only as far as necessary to gather your dog for the service
  • Attach a dog tag with the Luv-A-K9 main office number, and the staff member’s cell phone number to your dog's collar
  • Avoid interactions with other dogs and people on walks 
  • Always keep your dog on leash
  • Use Luv-A-K9 supplies to provide services - this includes leash, eco-friendly pick up bags and owner-approved treats
  • Reasonably clean your dog’s feet and coat of mud/water if a towel is provided at the specified entrance
  • Leave your home as specified - this includes location of your dog (kennelled, loose), door locked, unlocked, etc. If there is a crate available and it is not specified where the dog should be left, they will be put in the crate
  • Please note for the safety of your dog Luv-A-K9 staff will NOT leave a dog unattended with a collar on regardless if this is your regular routine and is how you typically leave the dog
Safety - Group Walks and Dog Transportation
  • No more than four dogs are assigned per team member 
  • Dogs must complete, at minimum, two solo training walks prior to being approved for Group Walks
  • ALL DOGS are crated individually during transport with leashes still connected to ensure safety when exiting their crate. If they cannot be crated, they will be seat belted
  • Unfortunately, not all dogs are suitable for group walks. As such, we cannot offer this service to all of our clients. New additions to group walks will be taken out with only our best-mannered, stable-tempered dogs to determine their suitability 
  • Dogs are on short leashes, in proper heel position (to the best of the walker’s ability)
  • No dogs are walked at the end of their leashes
  • Pairing of dogs is predetermined by management or trainers that are aware of each dog’s temperament and personality to ensure the best pairings possible
  • Dogs are allowed minimal direct interaction with paired dogs
  • Luv-A-K9 maintains close connections with all local veterinary clinics who diligently inform us when they see rises in contagious canine diseases - when we receive these notifications group walks are postponed and will automatically be switched in our schedule to individual one hour walks 
Key Handling
  • All client keys are kept at the secured LUV-A-K9 training facility in a locked box. Staff pick up keys daily and return them at the end of each day
  • Keys are organized using your dog’s name and are NEVER labelled with any association to your address 
  • By using LUV-A-K9 Exclusive you agree for us to hold 2 copies of your key, to be used strictly for requested services
  • If you’ve requested multiple services in a day, LUV-A-K9 reserves the right to make additional copies
  • If you prefer to use a “hide-a-key” approach rather than provide key copies, please ensure the key is always in the same spot and ready the morning of your services. If the key is not in its indicated location services will not be provided and you will be billed.
  • If you decide to use “hide-a-key” we recommend updating your key location on a monthly basis (make sure to inform us prior to doing so!)
Social Media

Please note our staff do take and share photos of our four legged clients. Images are shared on our public social media pages (Facebook, Instagram). Rest assured our team takes the utmost care to: 
  • Never include any sensitive details in the backgrounds of photos (house numbers, street names, etc.)
  • Never geotag locations 

Payment

Our services are billed on a weekly basis (or at the time of completion for non-regulars). Weekend walks will be invoiced and billed the day of. You will receive an invoice each Friday for our services which can be paid by any of the following:

  • E-Transfer to info@luvak9.com (this account has auto-deposit so no passwords are required)
You may choose to save a card on file with us so that we can automatically charge your card for services provide. If this is your preference, please advise.
